Why wear Cowrie Shells?
Cowrie Shells are divine artifacts. Shelter for sea snail these shells are found in the tropical depths of the pacific and Indian ocean. The use of cowrie shells as a divine artifact dates back thousands of years. By the 18th century, the cowrie became the preferred form of currency along trade routes of West Africa, carrying a status of wealth and power.
At the time of colonization, Europeans tried adamantly to replace the cowrie shell with new, more centralized bank notes. This effort, however, was not met with willingness from the tribes across West Africa. When the French prohibited the use of cowries as money in 1907, the elders resisted by refusing to include the new money in their monetary system. This resistance lasted until the 1940s.Today, cowries no longer serves as currencies but still hold great symbolic value. Many cowrie shells still play a part in ritual services in West Africa. As the Hausa say: “Whoever is patient with a cowrie shell will one day have thousands of them.”
Why wear copper?
Copper is an essential nutrient for the body. Copper improves physiological balance and strengthens the body. It purifies the blood, triggers the formation of haemoglobin and boosts blood circulation in the body. It also protects the body from the ill-effects of other highly toxic metals that come in contact with the body. It helps maintain healthy bones, blood vessels, nerves, and immune function, and it contributes to iron absorption.Copper is essential for the synthesis of adenosine triphosphate, which is an energy storehouse of the human body.   Copper seeps into your pores and naturally changes its tone over time, use lime and course salt to clean tarnishes, or simply embrace the natural changes like myself .
